Hi! I’m Michaela Brown. I am the author of “From the Stage to the Stove” my first published cookbook! I sing with my family, The Browns, a national touring, StowTown Records (Sony/Provident) Recording artist. I have been blogging here at Stage to the Stove since 2014, where I share my love of cooking and music… and my life in between!
Stage to the Stove
When I step off the stage I head to my stove where I enjoy sharing the tastes of my kitchen, and traveling adventures with you! I have studied classes at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, and have been learning how to cook from some of the best cooks in the world since I was a young girl…. my mom and Grandmas! I also write a cooking article for the Singing News Magazine each month. I grew up on a farm in Iowa so a lot of my cooking is from my Midwestern, farm family roots.
I love traveling and trying new dishes from different parts of the country and the world, and I am excited to share them with you! Creating fabulous food can be so much fun, but more than that is sharing the fellowship with my family and friends as we enjoy the dishes together!!
It’s truly a family affair when The Browns hit the stage. The musical stylings of Shelly, Michaela, Adam, and Andrew exude excitement on the stage and offer a life-changing experience to all who hear them. The Browns deliver the powerful message of the gospel through word and song that engage audiences of all ages.
The Browns have been touring across the United States since the group began its full-time ministry fifteen years ago. The group began on the local and state level and has expanded and grown into a national touring group.
The group has just finished their newest recording, “Love Loud” as a StowTown Recording artist, with Dove Award winning producer, Wayne Haun.
Even when they’re not on stage or on tour, the Browns manage to stay plenty busy on their farm property west of LeMars, Iowa, which has served to become somewhat of haven for the family away from the road. Adam says, “We enjoy life at home. There’s just something about being in the country. I’ve always enjoyed it”. Andrew, the self-proclaimed life of the party, said touring on the road can get a little crazy, but he’s been able to put things into perspective. “I’m thankful for what I’m doing,” he said. “I think it’s a special thing that we do.” To add to the family experience, Shelly’s husband Keith is the chief bus driver and sound technician. “Because we know we’re called, it’s been worth it all. God has opened the doors and there are adventures and blessings behind each one.”
From singing over 30 shows at the Americana Theatre in Branson, MO, to Dollywood Theme park stages, to singing on over 10 Royal Carribean and Carnival cruise ships this award winning family will inspire you with their close-knit family harmony and talent. The Browns love what they do, love each other, and the audiences to whom they sing!
